Clean Out Your Junk Drawer - Weekend Challenge
Photo by David Levêque on Unsplash
From the archive. I first wrote this in January 2014 on my old blog. Some of the tools, names, and numbers have changed since, but most of it holds up.
Admit it. Somewhere in your kitchen, or maybe your office, or maybe both, you have a junk drawer. Chances are it didn't start out that way. It probably started out with some level of organization or an intended purpose. Over the years, though, it has become a catch-all mess with no organization at all. Take 30 minutes this weekend and clean it out. Throw away the 25 take-out menus, organize the recipe cards, toss that weird thing that your mother-in-law gave you, and put that drawer in order.
While you do that, think about what parts of your work and life resemble that junk drawer. Work on those too.
Wishing you a success-filled weekend!
